Planter Boxes Made Greener
What a difference collaborative effort makes! Upon receiving a grant from Washington Parks & People, the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative was able to celebrate Earth Day 2008 by continuing its community beautification project. Mr. Lawrence Jordan, of the Convict Services & Offender Supervision Agency, joined the Ward 7 Arts Collaborative as we completed the second stage fo our Planter Box Project. Over a dozen male and female residents of Ward 7 received community service hours for helping the collaborative plant new drought-resistant grasses in the wards planter boxes. These new plants along Minnesota Avenue and Benning Road represents a greener lifetyle for the ward. A lifestyle which brings out the beauty in our community.
